Do Your Part: Help Prevent the Spread of Coronavirus
Our Brooklyn community has always been resilient. While the spread of coronavirus presents one of our greatest challenges, there is no question we can get through it together. But we need to take it seriously. And we must be willing to adapt in order to protect our most vulnerable neighbors.
Education is the best way to find clarity and calm in the midst of a crisis. Turn to trusted establishments like the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control for coronavirus tips and updates.
Learn the signs of coronavirus. According to CDC, symptoms such as cough, fever, and shortness of breath could signal an infection. If you experience these symptoms, call your doctor for medical advice. Only seek immediate medical attention for emergency warning signs such as chest pain, inability to arouse, difficulty breathing, or blue color in the lips or face.
Please note that symptoms may not appear until fourteen days after exposure to the virus. This is why social distancing is especially crucial at this time. It can be very easy to spread COVID-19 when you are unaware you have it. Avoid crowds and public restrooms. Postpone travel plans and work from home. Use extreme caution when interacting with those who are elderly or have a pre-existing medical condition. If possible, designate an area of your home as a protected space for any vulnerable members of your household.
Be diligent about personal hygiene. Wash hands frequently, for 20 minutes at a time. Regularly disinfect surfaces within your home or business, or hire a professional sanitization team. 911 Restoration is an excellent local resource for commercial and residential disinfecting and sanitization. Our technicians are all trained to follow current CDC and EPA protocols. Like you, we are focused on doing our part to help the Brooklyn community recover, rebuild, and thrive.
